About Animal Abuse In Entertainment
The Problem
We all have a fuzzy friend we adore, who doesn't love snuggles with your pets? We are all aware of the domestic abuse these animals can sometimes face, but did you know that animal abuse can be found in other places too, such as the entertainment industries?
Marine Parks, Circuses, Dog Pageants, using animals as actors, and certain Zoos and Aquariums all and more are examples of industries that use animals as a source of entertainment for humans. They are kept without their consent and follow the will of humans. Some are forced to learn tricks that could injure them, so that humans can be entertained for a little while.
The Solution
Most of us have probably been to one or more of the attractions above, but these animals don't deserve to suffer, they are defenseless creatures who should be left alone and not kept in cages, confined in places against their will.
They cannot thrive in the environments these industries put them in. Ways to protect these animals is reduce or stop going to these attractions. These industries keep thriving as long as consumers keep supporting their business. If you wish to go to a zoo or aquarium make sure they bear the seal of The Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Even though we now have the American Humane Association to protect these animals used in entertainment, they aren't always able to do so.
